These dyes are fully intermixable and suitable for printing on cotton, linen, or viscose rayon. Procion P & SP dyes must be steamed or baked to assist the fixing of the dye, and are favoured for their higher fixation levels and fewer problems associated with back-staining (this is particularly important on prints with white areas).
If you do not have the facilities to steam or bake your prints, we recommend using the Procion MX dyes, as that range is suitable for cold dyeing.
Print pastes made up with Procion P & SP dyes have a much longer shelf life than the Procion MX range, making them preferable if prepping your print paste in advance.
Please note that the Procion P dyes are not recommended for dyeing fabrics, only for printing and painting.
